The medical lecture female pelvic organs is the in depth elaboration of uterus anatomy, its anatomical relations, internal surface of the uterus. Following this, anatomy of ovary is discussed. Conclusively, uterine tubes and vagina anatomy comes under consideration.
Uterus is a hollow pear-shaped muscular organ. Parts of the uterus are fundus, body and cervix. Attachments of uterus are uterine tubes, ligament of the ovary, and round ligament. It is Located in the middle of pelvis. Anatomically, uterus has relations with inferior surface, anterior surface, posterior surface, and lateral borders.
Internal Surface of Uterus
Internal surface of uterus is two and half inch long. Uterine cavity is triangular in shape. Uterine tubes enter via the angles of the fundus. Cervical canal is spindle shaped. Then vessels of uterus are discussed. Coats of uterus comprises perimetrium, myometrium, and endometrium. Warda Naz also explains diagrammatically the ligamentum teres uteri, utero-sacral ligament, cardinal ligament, and pubocervical ligament.
Anatomy of Ovary
Ovary is an almond shaped organ in women. Anatomy demonstrator discusses its position and relation. Medial surface and lateral surface are two surfaces of ovary. Ovarian artery arises from aorta proximal to renal artery. Ovarian veins issue through the hilum and form a pampiniform plexus around the artery. Lymph vessels and nerves along with ovarian ligament and suspensory ligament of ovary is also discussed in this section.
Uterine tubes, also known as fallopian tubes or oviduct, are reproductive organs that convey discharged ovum from ovary to uterus. It is divided into intramural and isthmus. The longest and widest part of the tube comprising 2/3 of the length is the ampulla. Information about infundibulum is also conveyed. Lastly, blood vessels and lymph vessels are pursued.
Vagina is a canal extending from the vulva to the cervix. Parts of the vagina comprises pelvic portion and perineal portion. Also, posterior, lateral, and anterior anatomical relations of vagina are discussed. This structure is drained by various lymphatics and is supplied by several nerves.
