Lecture´s Description

Major Elements of the Body
In this lecture ´´Metabolism of Na, K, Cl and Ca´´ is explained. Section one is about ´´Major Elements of the Body´´.  Firstly, the educator explains the elements of the body and their functions in brief detail. After that, the elements of group III, group IV and group V are discussed.

Sodium
Section two is about “Sodium”. In the beginning of this section, sodium and its food sources are discussed. The educator then sheds some light on the daily requirement of sodium in our body. Following this Forms of sodium pump and their mechanism is elucidated. After that, the inhibitors of sodium pumps are discussed. Moreover, the excretion and functions of sodium is demonstrated. The section ends after discussing the clinical aspects of sodium.

Potassium
Section three is about ‘Potassium “. In the beginning, the metabolism of potassium is elucidated. The functions and clinical aspects of potassium are then explained by the educator.

Chlorine
Section four is about ‘’Chlorine’’. Initially, the daily requirements and distribution of chlorine is demonstrated by the educator. After that, its absorption and excretion are discussed in detail. In the end, the educator reveals the functions of chlorine in body.

Calcium
Section five is about “Calcium’’. In the start of this section, calcium and its body distribution is explained. The educator then focuses on the absorption and mechanism of absorption of chlorine. After that the factors affecting absorption are elucidated. The functions of chlorine are also discussed in this section. In the end, clinical importance of chlorine is discussed.
