Lecture´s Description

In this lecture, educator tells the importance of cell and components of a standard cell. Special cells can be differentiated by many features.

Cell membrane is phospholipid bilayer and gives shape to cell. It is made of full length proteins. There are three types of cell receptors. The cytoplasm is a mixture of many substances. Educator explains the concept of cytoplasm by giving example of a 70kg person.

Cell nucleus contains genetic information. Cell skeleton can be microfilament, intermediate filament or microtubules. Organelles can be membranous or non-membranous. ER and ribosomes help in protein synthesis. Mitochondria is organelle where aerobic and anaerobic process takes place. Lysosome are responsible for programmed death of a cell.
