Lecture´s Description

Radiocarpal joint internal articulating surface is covered by synovial membrane. The midcarpal joints occur between two rows of carpal bones. CMC joints of fingers is classified as nonaxial plane synovial joints that provide more stability than mobility. The MCP joint allows only flexion and extension and is therefore a uniaxial joint. The IP joint, the only phalangeal joint, also allows only flexion and extension.

Flexor carpi radialis originates from medial epicondyle of humerus and extend distally from forearm into hand. Carpal Tunnel is formed anteriorly at the wrist by a deep arch formed by the carpal bones and the flexor retinaculum. Palmar carpal arch is combination of two arteries i.e. palmar carpal branch of radial artery and palmar carpal branch of ulnar artery.
