Lecture´s Description

When a stimulus acts on reticular receptors via a G-protein it activates and release IP3 that releases Ca2+. Major Ca2+ influx takes place through ligand-gated and voltage-gated Ca2+-channels. This intracellular Ca2+ than binds to protein Calmodulin and together activate myosin light chain kinase. Activated myosin bind to the actin chain and cause contraction.
